2024 Portuguese Harvest: We are excited to announce the arrival of our September harvest Portuguese EVOOs by early November.

“We opened the mill on September 23rd and started processing ultra green fruit (specifically, Galega!) before any other mills in Portugal

Leah was present for this very early harvest, oil production and selection, allowing her to isolate unique batches to bring you the freshest harvest from Portugal sooner than ever!

We have a nice variety of high polyphenol Portuguese EVOOs arriving on this first shipment plus a surprise, EVOO with extraordinary sensory attributes – Our exclusive partner producer SAOV has a unique advantage and utilizes cutting edge technology which allows an automatic temperature correction and cooling of the olive paste at the most critical processing point by utilizing a high vacuum in the malaxer.

“We were able to preserve stellar chemistry and flavor even with seasonal hurdles in September. High vacuum in the malaxer also maintains the polyphenols so the group of oils are extraordinarily peppery”

Additionally some varieties were harvested and processed within 30 minutes moving from tree to mill – this is an extraordinary accomplishment.

Market update: We are happy to announce that Spain (the global leader) and most of the Northern Hemisphere is set to have a massive crop although most areas are not harvesting yet, instead waiting for better yield in which quality is oftentimes sacrificed etc.  It goes without saying that our quality (due to the very small, early harvest window) represents less than 10% of the quality in the world. The global shortage and industry crisis will finally be resolved in the coming months, and we will offer ample supply on most varieties.
